Rest in peace to the victims of the Itaewon disaster

We pray for the repose of those who died in the Itaewon disaster and we send our deepest condolences to all those who lost their families and loved ones. We wish for the speedy recovery of injured people and people who had to watch the terrible situation.

Above all, it is very regrettable that even though it was expected to attract a large number of people due to Halloween events, safety measures such as management personnel were not prepared enough, leading to a disastrous accident. It is disastrous that our society’s pledge to make a safe society after the Sewol Ferry disaster has been overshadowed.

The government and the Seoul Metropolitan Government should do their best to pick up the pieces of the disaster and investigate the cause of the massive death. Once again, we pray for the repose of those who have died in Itaewon.
