PSPD Operated a Free Taxi Service, the 'Public Sentiment Taxi' to Listen to the Voice of Citizens

On Thursday February 24, the 3rd inauguration anniversary of the Lee Myung-bak administration, PSPD operated a free taxi service, the 'public sentiment taxi' to listen to the voice of citizens throughout the day. The 'public sentiment taxi' was planned in order to assess citizens' impressions of last 3 years of the MB administration and share opinions about what should be changed with regard to governmental policy and the state affairs administration.

Five public sentiment taxis in total were operated; we began the day at 10:00am with a brief departure ceremony in front of the PSPD office in Tongin-dong.

In order to meet the 'citizens with something to say’, the following members made a round of every spot in Seoul in the taxi, interviewing citizens and recording them on video: the social designer and lawyer Park Won-soon(an executive director of the Hope Institute), a popular broadcaster Mrs. Hammer (DJ of Mrs. Hammer's Talk Room on the Internet Broadcasting, Africa TV), a talent Mr. Maeng Bong-hak(took a role as a father of Sam-soon in the drama 'My name is Kim Sam-soon'), Mrs. Bae Byoung-ok the leader of Free Meals (a chairman of a standing operation committee of Solidarity for Free Meals, also a CEO of School Meals National Network), Mr. Park Won-seok a cooperative executive director of PSPD who was in the middle of the candlelight demonstration against importing the US beef in 2008, Mr. Ahn Jin-gul a chief of Social-Economic Team of PSPD who is a specialist in the public welfare issues like a regulation on SSM or guarantee half college tuition for students and full-time employees of PSPD

PSPD is planning to arrange the vivid voice of citizens collected by the 'public sentiment taxi' in the form of a UCC public letter, planning articles and columns; and deliver them to the Lee Myung-bak administration.
